Audience Power
An
eager audience sits in anticipation, and politely waits, for the
performer to come on stage, comfortably secure in their seats,
awaiting to be entertained. Then fifteen minutes later, some of
this shy retiring audience, have themselves become stars, playing
Oscar winning roles on stage, as fast shooting cowboys, conductors
of the Hallie orchestra, domineering sergeant majors, dancers at
Convent Garden in ballet with Nureyev himself. Up on stage, the
man responsible for all this phenomena, star of the show, Barry
Sinclair. The
result, consternation abounds. The fusion of excitement, laughter
and applause, creates an electric atmosphere, that heralds the
arrival of a star. His arrival is all the more unique as it's now
very rare, in the 20th Century for some one to successfully master
stage hypnosis to such a high caliber of perfection as Mr. Barry
Sinclair has done. Not since Houdini, stepped onto the stage of
the Winter Garden Theatre in New York, has there been such
excitement created by one single artist, through his own
performance on stage. What
many others have taken a lifetime to achieve, he has done in a
very short period, filling venues from the Desert Inn in Las
Vegas, to the Cork Opera House & Olympia Theatre Ireland, to
Queens University, Belfast with sell out shows, for all his
performances. His popularity is all the more intriguing, as it has
happened purely by word of mouth alone, and has not been achieved,
in the customary manner through hype and exploitation of record
company promotions. To describe Mr. Sinclair purely as a
hypnotist, is inadequate. He is a phenomenon in himself. His feats
of mind reading startle audiences who have never seen such a
bewildering form of entertainment before, to lock together two
borrowed solid rings, and by his remote command under the very
eyes and scrutiny of the audience, unlock them again. No one could
accomplish the spell binding feats Mr. Sinclair does so
